About the Role
As CHANEL enters a significant new chapter of creative vision, we are seeking a Fashion Product Merchandising Manager for the Italian market. This pivotal role serves as the strategic bridge between our global European vision and the local realities of our Italian boutiques. You will lead the product strategy to ensure every boutique remains a unique place of excellence, promoting the Chanel Allure through the 'One Boutique, One Story' philosophy. We are looking for a team player with a deep love for luxury products and a service-oriented mindset to support our boutique teams in their buys while contributing to the evolution of our operational excellence.
The successful candidate will play a dual role of strategic architect and field-based partner, spending at least 25% of their time within boutiques to identify opportunities and address merchandising challenges firsthand. You will be responsible for piloting the fashion assortment, optimizing collection performance, and ensuring that every product story resonates with the Italian clientele while maintaining the prestigious brand codes of the House.
Key Responsibilities- Strategy Implementation: Adapt and deploy the global European strategy for the Italian market, aligning CHANEL’s creative vision with local specificities to drive performance.
- Buying Cycle Leadership: Coordinate and lead buying sessions by leveraging market insights and data analysis; support boutiques during showrooms and lead final buying reviews.
- Performance Optimization: Conduct rigorous quantitative and qualitative analysis of collection performance, including sell-through, top-sellers, and inventory aging across all segments.
- Stock Management: Proactively monitor stock levels and delivery statuses to balance supply with demand, maximizing commercial impact and ensuring successful seasonal launches.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Visual Merchandising and Style Expertise teams to define 360-degree action plans for window displays and commercial animations.
- Brand Stewardship: Ensure all product presentations authentically represent seasonal stories and luxury positioning to enhance the client experience.
- Field Engagement: Maintain a consistent presence in Italian boutiques to review assortments, mentor teams, and identify real-time market trends.
- Experience: A minimum of 8 to 10 years of confirmed experience in Product Merchandising, specifically within the luxury fashion sector.
- Market Expertise: Deep sensitivity to fashion products and a comprehensive understanding of the Italian competitive landscape and luxury trends.
- Analytical Prowess: Strong ability to interpret commercial performance levers and translate data into actionable retail strategies.
- Soft Skills: A collaborative mindset with exceptional interpersonal skills and a service-oriented approach to supporting boutique teams.

- Languages: Professional fluency in both Italian and English is required; proficiency in French is considered a significant advantage.
