About the Role

Apleona UK is currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Handler to join our established facilities management team in Basildon, Essex. This is a critical operational role designed for an individual who takes pride in creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all site users. Working within a fast-paced setting, you will be an integral part of our cleaning and maintenance division, ensuring that all service delivery targets are met with precision and excellence. This position offers a stable Monday to Friday schedule, perfect for those seeking a consistent routine in a professional atmosphere.

• Execute high-quality cleaning and maintenance tasks across designated areas of the Basildon site, adhering to strict health and safety protocols.
• Manage the disposal of waste and recycling materials in accordance with environmental regulations and company policies.
• Monitor stock levels of cleaning supplies and equipment, reporting any shortages or maintenance requirements to the supervisory team.
• Perform routine deep-cleaning projects as assigned to ensure the longevity and hygiene of site facilities.
• Operate various types of cleaning machinery and industrial equipment safely and effectively.
• Maintain clear communication with team members and site management to ensure all operational needs are addressed promptly.
• Ensure that all tasks are completed within the allocated 7:00am to 15:00pm shift window while maintaining a high standard of finish.
• Adhere to COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) guidelines when handling chemicals and cleaning agents.

• Previous experience in a professional cleaning, facilities management, or handler role is highly desirable but not essential.
• A proactive and hardworking attitude with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong physical stamina, as the role involves manual tasks, walking, and the operation of equipment throughout the shift.
• Basic understanding of Health and Safety procedures within a commercial or industrial workplace.
• Excellent reliability and punctuality, with the ability to commit to a 7:00am start time in Basildon.
• Strong communication skills to interact professionally with colleagues and clients.
