About the Role
At Mast-Jägermeister US, we build brands people love and create moments worth celebrating. We are seeking a visionary and high-impact VP/GM for our East & Control region to occupy one of the most dynamic seats in our commercial organization. In this executive leadership role, you will hold full P&L and sales responsibility for a critical U.S. territory, driving the expansion of the MJUS brand portfolio across on-premise, off-premise, and regional chain accounts. As a key member of the leadership team, you will blend high-level strategy with hands-on execution to ensure Jägermeister remains a dominant force in the spirits industry.
The successful candidate will be a master of relationship management, serving as the primary lead for "top-to-top" negotiations with our distributor partners while inspiring a high-performing regional team. You will be responsible for setting the cultural and commercial tone for the region, ensuring that our brand image is upheld and our market share continues to climb through innovative programming and meticulous financial management. This role requires a leader who can think beyond sales to contribute to the broader success of the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Distributor Management & Influence: Partner with and influence Distributor Regional Presidents to align on regional strategies; lead high-stakes negotiations and maintain a dominant "share of mind" for the MJUS portfolio.
- Regional Sales Strategy: Develop and execute annual and long-term commercial plans focused on key markets, distribution targets, and cold equipment placement.
- Market Expertise: Demonstrate expert knowledge of spirits market trends, competitor behavior, and consumer insights within the East and Control states.
- Commercial Excellence: Oversee brand economics, pricing, and profit margins, ensuring regional programs improve brand equity through proper merchandising, shelf management, and drink features.
- People Leadership: Hire, coach, and retain top-tier talent; build bench strength through the "Making Meisters" development framework and foster a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Data-Driven Execution: Drive accountability for regional T&E and LPF budgets while utilizing tools like Salesforce, VIP i-Dig, and Karma to analyze ROI and market effectiveness.
- Industry Experience: Approximately 15+ years of progressive experience in Sales or Marketing, specifically within the spirits, beverage, or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industries.
- Strategic Leadership: Proven track record of leading large, multi-layered sales teams and contributing to Senior Leadership Team (SLT) objectives.
- Negotiation Skills: Expert-level proficiency in distributor relationship management and "top-to-top" account negotiations.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of federal and state alcohol laws, including familiarity with DISCUS and NABCA regulations.
- Communication Mastery: Exceptional public speaking and presentation skills with the ability to inspire internal teams and external partners.
- Logistics: Ability to travel 30-40% within the market; must possess a valid driver’s license and reside within the East Region.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
- Competitive Compensation: Base salary range of $275,000 - $295,000+ with a 40% annual target bonus.
